Topic: what Jesus Says About “ANGER”
Mattew 5:21–26
- Ye have heard that it was said of them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment: Matthew 5:21
- But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment; and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council; but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire. Matthew 5:22
- Therefore, if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there remembers that thy brother hath ought against thee, Matthew 5:23
- Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift. Matthew 5:24
- Agree with thine adversary quickly, whiles thou art in the way with him; lest at any time the adversary deliver thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and thou be cast into prison. Matthew 5:25
- Verily, I say unto thee, Thou shalt by no means come out thence, till thou hast paid the uttermost farthing. Matthew 5:26
Lesson 1
- Anger is the same as Murder.
- You will never win the case whenever you are angry against someone without cause. Your offerings and gifts become salt that has lost it’s savor before God.
- So get out of the anger as quickly as possible.
- You will only hurt one person, yourself.
- No matter how spiritually tongue-speaking or well-dressed you could be,.
- If you immediately allow anger, it takes away your esteem and worth.
- Dare to work more on reconciliation and restitution where possible. Before it turns against you. This has caused many divorces and feuds in families and society. verse 25.
- Don’t have an entitlement spirit toward people you send into your life, especially in relationships and in institutions (vs. 26).
- Take note Anger = murder.
- Anger could lead to hell.
- An angry person is a fool.
